A lot of people have asked me where is the place in the background of this photo.

Located in Talisay, Negros Occidental, Philippines is the remains of the ancestral mansion of the Lacson Clan headed by Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and her wife Maria Braga Lacson is “The Ruins”.

This mansion had a long history, beginning in the early 1900.

To cut the story short, The Ruins was built by Don Mariano in memory of his late wife Maria Braga Lacson. During World War 2, “The Ruins” was burnt down to prevent the Japanese colonizers from using the mansion as their military office.

Because of the durability of the materials used in building the mansion, it took three days to burn down the house.

The good thing is up to this day, the great-grandchildren of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson were able to preserve the place and turn it into a tourist attraction.

The Ruins Mansion is a masterpiece that we can call ruined but still beautiful.

COME TO THINK OF IT, HOW SOMETHING RUINED CAN BE STILL CALLED BEAUTIFUL?

Back in the day, the people who are managing the mansion tried to destroy this beautiful architecture.

Although the mansion was devastated and cannot be restored to its original beauty, it was still able to withstand the test of time.

AND JUST LIKE THE MANSION EVERY PERSON HAS A UNIQUE STORY TO TELL.

Now this is something I can relate to the state that this Mansion has gone through.

We all go through experiences that will change us forever, some that can even leave us ruined or scarred forever.

A lot of us may have gone through with problems or experiences that made us feel helpless, betrayed, or destroyed. A moment or phase in life where we will be at our lowest point and feel unlovable.

Despite this, I HOPE AND PRAY THAT YOU DON’T GIVE UP.

There are people who will love you even on your lowest and will still love you in your unlovable state.

People that will help build you up again like your family and friends. They are the people who will always be there to support you.

But my dear friend, you also have to help yourself. Do whatever it takes to build yourself up again. It might take time sometimes, but you’ll get there.

“The Ruins” was burned down for a reason.

What does this teach us?

SOME EXPERIENCES ARE NECESSARY.

There is a reason why you are in that position.

Sometimes you have to go through the worst version of yourself in order to get to the best version of yourself.  It may be a hard process, but it’s necessary for us to learn and grow.

Eventually, that pain will turn into a gain and that gain, I believe you can turn it into greatness.

There is nothing more beautiful than someone who went through so much, but still managed to stand up and I hope that’s you.

That's all for now.

Love,
