THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR LAST 2016
6:58 AMHappy new year everybody! I can’t believe that 2016 is already over and it was a whirlwind of emotions.
For my country, It was the year of the
transition of administration for the Philippines, where they said was the
beginning of the “big change”. It was also the year
where the war in Syria erupted, typhoon Nina hit the Philippines hard during
the holidays, war in Syria, Kim Kardashian robbery incident and oh don’t forget the
Mariah Carrey fiasco, but despite these catastrophe’s there are also a lot of
things that we can be thankful for, such as Philippines being chosen as the
next location for the Miss Universe *Thank you Queen P, free admissions to the
national museum, Cold play concert and
Korean dramas.
On a personal level, It was a year of adventure, learning
and change. Anyways, here are some of the
things I consider as my biggest blessings and things I am grateful for last
2016 :
1.
SINULOG. This is the first time I joined Sinulog
and the experience was one for the books. It was the first time that I traveled
with two of my friends via plane and I’m glad that we were able to push through
because it was a last minute decision.
2.
MOUNTAIN CLIMBING. I can’t really remember how
many mountains I’ve climbed this year *my friends think I only had a few climbs but I
haven’t uploaded everything yet. Climbing has showed me how great God’s creations
and it made me realize how blessed our country is and that Philippines is more
than just man made tourist spots.
3.
LUZON, VISAYAS AND
MINDANAO ADVENTURES. Yesss this was a year of
travel for me, I remember declaring last 2015 that my 2016 will be a year of
travel for me, others may say that
traveling abroad is better but I prefer exploring my own country first. I may not be able to explore all the 81 provinces, but well get there soon.
4.
GRADUATING. From grad-waiting to graduating. After four dreadful years, I was
able to survive and graduate. Yes there were a lot of worries and difficulties, but I’m glad that I was able to hold on with my blockmates and we were able to
finish strong.
5.
FIRST EVER FAMILY VACATION. Two days before my
birthday, we decided to have a family vacation on Baguio and it was crazy
because we were having our grocery when I finally agreed to have that trip as
my birthday gift, then after an hour of
packing our things we went straight to Baguio *talk about sponteity. I was
hesitant at first because I was thinking that I’ve been to there a lot of times
but then I thought it’s the first time that I’m going with my Family.
6.
HAVING A HAIR CUT. One of the biggest decision
in my life . . . haha just kidding, I’m so glad that after 8 years I had the
guts to cut my waist length hair to a shoulder length hair. It was a whooping
14 inch hair, which could make me cry a river *oh you know how important hair
for girls are, but then it was for a good cause. I decided that I’m going to donate
it to an organization that creates wigs for cancer patients.
7.
YOUTUBE CHANNEL. It may not be as popular as the
other channels out there, but it has been my long time plan to create my own
YouTube channel where I can share my travel videos and share a piece of my life
and my goofiness. If you haven’t subscribed yet click Verzotyle Channel and Celestravels for a dose of craziness
and adventure.
8. ADVENTURE WITH COUSINS AND TITAS (and Tito's). Traveling is twenty times better when you do it with your cousins. From
Iligan, Camiguin, Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro and so on, there was never a dull
moment when I am with them. From kalokohan’s to serious moments *oh who am I kidding it’s always laugh time
when I am with them and that includes supposed to be serious moments. I can't even imagine my life without my cousins. Because
of our travels and adventures I got to meet relatives
that I never knew existed.
9.
MEETING NEW FRIENDS AND HAVING A STRONGER
RELATIONSHIP WITH PEOPLE. From travel friends, to batch mates, international
friends and friends that turned into family. I’m always
thankful whenever I meet new people because every person that you meet
has a purpose, some are there to test you, to teach you or bring out the best
in you.
10. TRAVELING ABROAD. I’ve been here in the Middle
East for 3- months now and you have no idea how much I miss the Philippines.
This trip was one of the turning points of my adulting life, I can even create a
single blog post about this one. I’m having mixed emotions with this one, but one
thing is constant, I am grateful of this opportunity and I know that I am here for a reason.
Three years ago I was still this somewhat acquisitive
teenager that thinks only material things could make me happy, but as time
passed by, the experiences and wisdom I acquired has made me more mature,
appreciative and thankful not only for the things I receive but also the
experiences I get, the relationships I form with other people and God, and also don't forget the
small things that count.
I still have a lot of things to be grateful for, may it be simple things like going home early from school, waking up early or being able to post in my blog *you know because it’s either I’m too busy or too lazy* to traveling local or domestic.

We receive a lot of blessings everyday, we just have to open
our mind, heart and eyes to the positive things in every situation.

P. S I woke up in a bad mood when I scheduled to create this
blog post but ended in a very good mood because I realized how blessed my 2016
turned out to be. I am hoping that 2017 will be better and more awesome for me
and everybody. Let’s claim it!
That’s all for today.
Love,
